RESEARCH INTEREST GROUPS

Genetics of Disease in Plants and Animals

Members of the Genetics of Disease in Plants and Animals (GDPA) RIG are interested in the genetics of hosts and pathogens, the genetics of disease, and improving methods for precision health applications for plants and animals. The GDPA RIG includes over 50 members representing four colleges. Examples of research interests for this group include: the evolutionary arms race between pathogens and their hosts, microbiomes, and the role the environment plays in the development of genetic-based diseases of plants and animals. This RIG hosts external seminar speakers as well as journal clubs for trainees and lightning talks.
