Navigating Evolution Education: Bridging Cultural and Religious Perspectives
Ken Miller, Professor Emeritus of Biology at Brown University
A career in the intersection between religion and science.
Ken Miller is a cell biologist and professor emeritus of biology at Brown University but he his best known for his work discussing teaching evolution and the relationship between science and religion. Miller was co-author with Joseph S. Levine on four popular biology textbooks, used in schools across the country. His co-authorship of these textbooks led to Millers involvement in science advocacy when he was called as a witness in several court cases in the early 2000s disputing the teaching of intelligent design in science curriculums. Since these appearances, Miller has written three books on the topics of evolution and religion, the Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District court case, and human evolution and reason.
