RESEARCH INTEREST GROUPS
Through this RIG, we aim to bridge the fields of genetics and neuroscience at NCSU to better understand the genetic basis of the nervous system—including its molecules, cells, and systems—and animal behavior.
We are launching a Journal Club that brings together students, staff, and faculty with shared interests. Since we are all spread across campus, we believe this will be an excellent opportunity to meet regularly and engage in stimulating scientific discussions. Our plan is to meet once a month to discuss a groundbreaking paper in the neurogenetic field, highlighting both its discoveries and limitations (all while enjoying some pizza). Each month, a different lab/s will present, and the rest of us will join in the discussion. Although we are still drafting the general guidelines for the JClub, our goal is to keep the format simple and straightforward.
